ruffle tube top out of tshirt ;)

I think I might have said on Monday's post that I would share my other sewing project I finished this weekend.  And I definitely don't want to let you guys down :)

With a lot of help from Cathy's tutorial on Trinkets in Bloom, I made a cute ruffly tube top out of a Large TSHIRT.  Yep, you read that right!  A large tshirt from Walmart for $3.97.  What a STEAL!!!!

I can't wait to make more of these!  This top is SO comfortable.

You can wear it over your bathing suit to the pool or the beach or wear it out on the town.

I LOVE it!!!

I gotta feeling my sister will be leaving me a comment wanting some of these ;) haha!

another wristlet clutch?! yep!

Boy, has it been HOT this weekend here in South Central KY.  I'm talking breaking the 100 degree mark!  I ended up spending most of my time indoors since the boyfriend took a little sick spell.  We were supposed to go to the lake on Sunday, but he wasn't feeling well so we had to back out.  It might be a good thing too, because I could have a realllly bad sunburn today, but I don't. :)

Since I spent a lot of time inside, I got a little bit of sewing in.  I completed two projects and can't wait to show them to you.  But today, you only get to see one ;)  Because you need something to see tomorrow, right?!

So without further ado, the wristlet clutch that I made.  Tutorial I followed can be found here. 

This tutorial was a LOT easier than the first clutch I made.  I've already picked out some more fabric to make another one.

Today, our puppy, Boone, was in the edge of the woods barking.  He never barks, ever.  Mac went to check him out and found that he was barking at a hissing snake!!!!  Yep, SNAKE!!!  Shew, can't stand them!  He ran in the house and had me get him a gun so he could shoot it.  Once he killed it, he brought it up to the house to show and of course, I had to take some pics for the blog. lol!

my first clutch

I got a wild hair that I wanted to make a clutch purse like I've been seeing all over Pinterest,

here and here.

I finally decided on a tutorial to help me out along the way: From An Igloo: Scrappy Clutch.

This was my first time sewing with a zipper too!

I'm pretty proud of myself :)

It doesn't look perfect by no means and I probably won't be flaunting it around,

but I think I did a heck of a job for my first one.

It has been a Monday allll day long.

It's 8:45pm and I'm finally home, just now sitting down.  You know those chores {exercise & dishes} have to come before blog time.  Booo :(

But it's blog time now, so yaay! :)

Our Nanny invited us to church with her for friends & family day.

Her grandkids from L to R: Cody, Sami, Hali, & me... and that special great grandbaby, Carter.

I'm pretty sure this was the most special day to her.

Welp, looks like I missed out on doing a Monday post.  I kept meaning to get on here and write something all night last night, but other things had to be done (read: laundry, dishes, bed at 8:30).

So, hello Tuesday, how are ya'll lovely people?

Mother's Day, 2012

It rained non-stop ALL day.  The weather was so terrible we only came out of the house two times.  Once to go to McDonald's and drop my boyfriend's mom's gift off and the other to visit my Mama.

This was my Mama's gift wrapped up.

That is some snazzy last minute wrapping!

My sister had the idea that she wanted us to make Mama something that had

"Life is better at the lake" on it.  If you know my Mama, she LOVES/LIVES

to be at the lake on the weekends.  Her idea actually came from this.

But, that looked like too much work to me so I decided it would look

good on a coffee cup and maybe when she's drinking out of it at the lake,

all her lake buddies will be a little jealous ;)

Monday Night = Daycare Graduation

Last night, my boyfriends youngest niece graduated from her daycare and will be moving

on to the big kindergarten.  The kids put on the cutest play!

The theme was Hee Haw!!

Our own Minnie Pearl.

Her exact line: How dee! I'm just so proud to be here!

And she nailed it, more than once.  ha ha!

Now it's Tuesday night.

I rented The Vow after work because it seemed like everyone was

talking about how good it is, and they weren't lying.

Just be prepared to cry your eyes out.

It really makes you think though.

high five for friday

It seems like foreverrrr since I've done a high five for Friday post

and I'm SO excited to be doing one. 

I've really got out of routine of taking pictures so this

week I tried to do a lot better.

We shall see.

1.  I crossed something off my list of goals for 2012...

by eating at a restaurant I've never eaten at.

STEAK N' SHAKE.

Hello milkshake, you are a dream come true.

I'm so going back.

2.  We were taken out for lunch at work on Tuesday at the

best place in the county, The Lighthouse Restaurant.

And I ate a cheeseburger (the usual) ha ha!

Administrative Assistant's day needs to come around more often.

3.  I started a 30 day ab challenge, which you can find here.

Last night was the first night of it.

If I have some major results, you might get a peak. ;)

4.  I took a spin in a yellow VW bug - 5 speed.

Let me tell ya, these cars have a crazy way of going in reverse.

5.  Last, but not least... my co-worker/friend/blog buddy, Kelly Jo, and I

had a little craft session and made this cute lil' thing for her

son's teacher, Ms. Hannah.  Of course the idea came from Pinterest,

and I'm sure you've seen it if you are a Pinterest addict like me.

Tell me how much you love these curtains in the background ;)

It's been a pretty great week.

I even spent some time with my nephew, but I

already posted those pictures this week.

oh, how pinteresting - smoky mountain edition

Here lately we have been discussing taking a weekend trip to the Great Smoky Mountains and I thought to myself, hmm.. this would be a great "Oh, How Pinteresting" theme post!

We've been to the Smoky's several times and honestly, I'm a little burnt out, but I'm definitely not going to turn down some time away from cleaning/cooking/laundry.

I'm crazy, but not that crazy. lol!

On to the Smoky's!!!

We always stay in Gatlinburg, TN.

Only about a 4 hour drive from where I live.

We always lay our heads down here.

It's located right next to the Ripley's Aquarium and

you can get a room that has a balcony over a little creek.

So peaceful, even though it is down town.

and we always walk up and down the street in Gatlinburg, going in &

out of the cute little shops.

It's not a trip to the Smoky's unless you eat here.

This place runs a close race with Waffle House, let me tell ya!

So, I'm back at it after a relaxing 3 day weekend.

I ended up getting myself a little sunburn on Sunday after laying out only an hour.

Whew, hot sun!  You shoulda seen me with my squirt bottle, trying to keep myself cool. HA!

And now, enter Monday.

First thing at work this morning, my computer was totally messed up

and finally got fixed right at lunch time.

After lunch the phone was busy, busy.

But after work.....

I got to spend some much needed time with this little man:

Carter is now 5 months old and getting so big. 

He jabbers a little bit and slobbers a LOT!

He has two bottom teeth that have broke skin and

have put him in bad moods at times. 

He loves to stand with you holding him up and

right now he has no interest in crawling, lol.

He's going to be ONE before we know it!
