3.  Sewed my first tshirt dress! So proud of myself.

4.  Had one of my most favorite meals this week from Gene's Freeze (a local restaurant).
Two mini cheese burgers and chili cheese tator tots.
My mouth is watering just seeing this picture.

5.  Erica (friend/co-worker) and I went to a small park here in town and had lunch one day.
This cozy little creek was flowing behind us.
One of the most peaceful lunches ever.

my first tshirt dress

Happy one day away from Friday :)
Yesterday I posted some pins of some dress inspiration that I had been drooling over.
Check them out here. Also two cute videos of my nephew.

Well, this weekend I decided I wanted to try to sew me a tshirt dress.
I thought to myself, "Ashlee, you can totally do this!"
So I set out to Walmart and picked out some fabric and bought a plain white shirt.
{1 yard of fabric $5.44; 1 white shirt $4.48}

After washing & drying my fabric and thinking really hard about how I wanted to do this,
I finally have a finished product. I even was brave enough to wear it to work on Wednesday
and got lots of compliments.  A few people thought it was a skirt.  My mom told me it looked like
I had an apron on! HA!  So let me hear what you guys think!

*drum roll please*

at my work. picture courtesy of Kelly at Twice as Nice.

and this is what happens when I try to get my boyfriend to take some pictures of me outside.
he gets distracted to easily.

So let me know what you think!
Oh, and any modeling tips you might have. Ha HA!

big boy

Today is actually Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday which will follow after these two videos.
I know a mama who is dying to see them I'm sure. Look how big Carter (my nephew) is getting!
He is rolling on his own now and we had to get documentation of this.
The second video is Mac holding him and we are trying to get him to smile real big, which
doesn't happen because we want him to obviously.
When I pull my camera out, he just stops smiling.

We are Carter crazy :)

Smell The Roses :)

Hey there Monday!
This weekend flew by and now it's back to the grind stone.
The weekend was SO lovely.  I hit up some Zumba and got a great sweat in. It felt so good!  We took the usual trip to Walmart and spent some quality time with my nephew.
Videos & pics to come later on in the week :)

This Monday I've decided to link up with Jessica at Lovely Little Things blog for her link up

Want to know more about it, go here.

This week's task was to do something that is unique to where you live,
with the purpose being to appreciate it.

I was born and raised in a VERY small town (population approximately 1500) with only
one stop light besides the blinking caution light at the 4 way stop on the square.
We have two chain restaurants: McDonalds & Pizza Hut; a mexican restaurant
& a few hometown places to eat.
There are two grocery stores, couple of gas stations, Family Dollar, and
our local Wal-mart, which is actually the Dollar General Market. ha ha!
Very small town here people!
So trying to think of some where unique was quite hard.
BUT, I did think of some people who were unique that came from my hometown!!!

Enter: THE KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS!!

Yup, I'm from the good ol' town that the Kentucky Headhunters are from.
Surely you have heard of them right?
Doesn't this song ring a bell?

Well, if you haven't heard of these guys, you are missing out!
They can rock out with the best of 'em!
So, check them out!

And don't forget to check out Jessica over at Lovely Little Things :)
Have a great week!

high five for friday!

This has been a pretty good week and it being Friday makes it even better!
Looking forward to a great weekend!
We've had a couple changes in our home this week.
Mac took a new job that he is SO excited about and I couldn't be more happier for him.
Mac, if you're reading this, you are going to OWN that job! ;)

Now let's get to my top 5 things from this week:

1.  I decided to become a dot.com.
I know my blog is not very established, but I've always thought it would be awesome
to have your own space on the web, so I took the plunge this week.

2.  The trees in my yard are really blooming out.
They are so pretty.  I've been told the one on the left is a Dogwood. Not sure about the right one.
{correction: the one on the left is a Redbud, the right one is possibly a Dogwood}

3.  Had a glass bottle Coca-Cola from the lil' country grocery in my neighborhood.
This is the BEST kind of Coca-Cola.

4.  Brutus winked at me!

5.  Sarah from Crazy Beautiful Life brought me some
beautiful jewelry she made.  I absolutely LOVE this owl necklace.
(Sarah, I promise I will get a better picture)

Happy Hunger Games weekend!
I think someone needs to take me to see it ;)

let me blow it up for you :)

I never in my life thought I'd have my own domain.
Dreams really do come true huh?
I can't wait to see what my future holds with my lil' blog.
I've loved everything about blog land so far.
You guys out there have made this a blast for me!
Thank you so much!!
Hope you stick around until forever :)
