MIA

I've been a lil' MIA the last few days... but with good reason!  I've got some new toys that I've been playing with!!  See...

I borrowed this printer/copier/scanner from Mac's mom so I can print some coupons =) (I'm an el cheapo!) and to hopefully scan some pics in.

I borrowed this SWEET toy from my Nanny.  I'm in the process of teaching myself to sew, but so far it's not going to well.  Any and all tips would be helpful!!  I'm starting to get discouraged over here.

So you see why I've been away now???  All of these toys are so overwhelming to a girl like me!!  I love me some technology, but I'm trying to go back to the golden days of sewing =)

*******************************************************************
I crocheted this lil' beauty over the weekend too!

That's all I have time for right now, but I promise there will be more in the future!  I've just got to get back to my toys ;)

Flower hair clip

This was my final project for the past weekend.  It's a cute, lil' flower hair clip!  I sported it to work yesterday!

Ingredients:

Bouqet of flowers ($1.00)
Hair clips ($2.00)
E-6000 glue

I clipped my flower off the bouqet with scissors and placed a small dot of glue on the back of it.  Then I stuck it to the hair clip.  I clipped the clip onto the glue package so it wouldn't glue together and me not be able to get it open!  (I can so see myself doing something like that!)  Let dry over night.

And VOILLLAAAA!!!!   Put it in your hair and show it off!!

I'm also making some of the pink flowers into clips, but I don't wear a lot of pink so those will probably be given as gifts ;)

Candle holder crafty vase thingy?!

Like I said in my previous post, I had a crafty weekend!  Here's another one I put together.  I call it a candle holder crafty vase thingy!  I got this idea from a few websites and on our way to the Dollar Tree I decided I had to get the essentials to try it out.

Essentials are:

Candlestick holder ($1.00)
Small vase ($1.00)
Candle ($1.00)
Bag of pebble rock ($1.00)
E-6000 glue (from Walmart and it was around $3.00) BUT, it will be used lots!

Step 1:  Put glue around the top of the candlestick holder and stick the vase on top.  Make sure it's center!  Let dry for about 30 minutes.

How pretty!!!

From the top!

Step 2:  Add your pebbles and candle... and TA DAAA ... You are ready to place it in a perfect spot in your house!!

I loved this SO much, I made another one to match it!

Make sure to check back tomorrow for my final craft of the weekend!!

Sunday adventure!

We took a trip to the Rolling Springs Holler behind our house today.  I made two videos while there and thought I'd share with you.  Hope you enjoy!

Crafty Weekend!

I decided this weekend was going to be all about some crafts!  Mac and I made a quick trip to the Dollar Tree in Glasgow late on Saturday night.  We got there at 8:30 and they close at 9!!  So needless to say I was a little rushed.  But I knew exactly what I was going for.

My first craft for the weekend was a "scarf holder" and it only cost me $1.33!!! Just take a look for yourself!!

I think it turned out pretty awesome!!!
How did I make it?  Well, I'll show you =)

Here are the supplies:

A hanger (which I had on hand)
Shower curtain rings ($1.33 from the Dollar Store)
Yarn (on hand)
Scissors (on hand)

First step:  the picture is pretty much self explanatory....  but you simply arrange your shower curtain rings like one of those six pack holders, making sure the insert slot is toward the outside so you can slip your scarf in and out of there if you wish.

Second step:  take your yarn and tie each ring side by side and then tie them together on the top.  Once they are all connected (like in the picture) tie them to your hanger!  I added a bow to the top of my hanger for a little more decoration!

And place you some scarves in there and you are ready to hang that baby up!!!  I am pretty proud of mine.  By the way, this is not where it's going to be hanging permanently!  =)

What do ya think?

On to more crafts =)

TAG ... I AM IT!!!

My friend, Kelly Jo, has tagged me in her blog to join in on a lil' game.  The game goes a lil' something like this.... HIT IT!  (and you will so know where that came from if you ever listened to Vanilla Ice =) )

1. Make a post and link back to the person who awarded you this award
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Award recently discovered bloggers the award so it will be their turn next.
4. Contact these bloggers and tell them they’ve won.

So... I am supposed to share 7 things about myself.  It has taken me two days to really figure out what I wanted to put for these 7 items.  So here goes nothing..

1.  I am a TWILIGHT freak!!!  Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is like the dreamiest of vampires.. and of course, Robert himself isn't too bad looking.  Poor Kelly Jo has to hear me talk about him all the time.  Sorry Kelly!!!  I am patiently awaiting the release of Breaking Dawn Part 1 (November 2011) and Part 2 (2012).

And just to prove how big of a freak I am.. just take a look for yourself.

2.  I LOVE to read!  I just wish I had more money to buy more books.  Right now I have a mental list of books I am wanting to read, but just do not have the extra money to buy a book and read it and add to the shelf.  I've looked into those Nooks by Barnes and Noble, but just can't figure out if I'd like to have one or not.  I like to physically see my books on my shelf.

3.  I am a Mello Yello - aholic!  I just found out yesterday there is now a Mello Yello Zero with NO CALORIES which is just what I need.  Kelly Jo and I went to Jr. Foods yesterday and got our first one to try.  They were only $0.55 and with the coupon at the check out counter they were only $0.44!!  WHAT A DEAL!!  I was just in luck too, I had 2 quarters!  (I never have any cash).  Mello Yello Zero didn't taste TO bad, but I am going to have to learn to like it!

4.  I am trying to become a crafty/DIY person in my old age of 25.  So far I have taught myself to crochet (January, 2011) and have many more crafts lined up for my future which you will probably see here.

5.  I have been wanting to go to Las Vegas for the last two years now.  I've never really gambled much, but I want to try my hand on those slot machines!!  And of course, visit the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop (Pawn Stars on the History channel - love that show)!  This is a magnet that Kelly Jo brought me back from Las Vegas on her 2nd trip there.

6.  When it comes to my clothes, I like to have them organized a certain way.  I like for my shirts to be organized by color, sweaters separated from all other shirts, pants all together and in a certain order, and in my actual closet there is sweat shirts on the left, bathin suits in the middle, and t-shirts on the right!  Yes, I am weird like that.  Yes, I use an entire room as my closet right now because 1) it was already set up like that when we moved in and 2) I have a lot more clothes than what I realized and 3) the closets are so small!!!!   (Please disregard the looks of my "closet room" because it has never been painted or had much work done to it, thank you!)

7.  Love me some riding 4 wheelers!!!!  This is probably my most favorite outside hobby ever.  We had a Polaris RZR (which was my FAVORITE), but we sold it, so now back to riding the 4 wheeler!  But that's okay, I love it!!!

(Britnee Nikol Reed & myself)

There you have it, 7 things about me!  I probably won't be tagging any one to join in because all my fellow bloggers have been tagged, but if you wish to leave me some cool information about yourself, then go right ahead!!  I love to learn new things :)
